Change is Constant
We spend so much time trying to plug holes in our rickety boats instead of accepting where we are in the moment.
where my head is at
I’ve been doing a lot of studying around stoicism and the one of the main ideas of stoicism is that change is inevitable. In the evolution of the day, we have to accept that we can do nothing to stop change. Time passes. There is nothing that we can do to stop the train.
What we CAN do though is to take advantage of the time that we do have.
I feel like the only difference between people who are successful and the people that aren’t is simply perception. What I mean by this is, what is your mindset? Are you going into situations positively or are you defeated as soon as you walk in the door? Do you realize that you can choose which one you show up as?
face it head on
I’ve recently started using a countdown of sorts that highlights the weeks that you’ve been alive. In the grand scheme of things you see how little time you’ve lived but more importantly how much time you have left.
The pic below is a look at my Momemnto Mori countdown. When we zoom out on life, it’s not as long as we make it seem so we have to take advantage of all that we get while on the is rock.
